I have no free time...

Free time for me is really hard to come by right now.  I just finished working my seventh straight day at work and I had school until 2:20 today.  Ok so it might seem like I am whining but I am just really worn out.  I had to work 10 hours saturday, 6 hours sunday and 8 hours monday, not to mention work and school today.  I finally get a day off tomorrow but I have so much crap to do....  Anyway I got 24 season 4 for my b-day from the Missel's and its really good.  I had never seen season 4 but I watched the first 2 and 1/2 seasons and then I just watched the past season 5 this spring.  It's a cool show...anyone watch 24?

This Blog is not Dead! (yet)

Ok, ok so I haven't blogged for about a month.  It has been part laziness and moving, but mostly not caring.  I will make an effort to post more blogs...soon.  If anybody is still subscribed to this blog....sorry it has been so long.

Gambling is Fun...maybe evil....but fun

Saturday night was my first trip to a casino.  It wasn't much of a casino, it was more like a giant tent.  I went to Winstar in Oklahoma with my mom, brother, and his girlfriend; Carol had to work so she couldn't go.  It doesn't take too long to get there from here, less than 2 hours.  I had fun on the trip with my family and got a free dinner on the way.  I love free stuff.  So I get there and I have to get a casino card to play the slots, and then I hit the slots.  My family tells me that the key to gambling is to have low expectations and don't spent more than $20.  After 1 night of gambling I have decided that the penny slots are the best.  You only have to bet 8 cents per pull and you get a lot of small winnings to balance out your losses.  I played the penny slots 6 times and came out ahead 5 times.  I then tried to play a nickel slot and lost $2 in about 45 seconds.  My mom actually wom $130 on a nickel slot.  My brother lost about $8 overall, but his girlfriend Ginny lost $20 in about 45 minutes.  Ouch.  I came out even in the end.  I had a lot of fun overall, but it was a mixed experience.  There were a lot of hard-core gamblers there betting a lot of money, and a lot of money being wasted.  So basically there is a fun side to it and a dark side.  My question is..is gambling inherently sinful and if it is, how bad?  Raghu recommended that I not tell anyone at APC that I went.  If I had, I probably would have been run out with pitchforks.  I definitely did not tell my in-laws I went, but that's another story.  Anyway, leave me some opinions on the world of gambling.  Should I continue to gamble and become a high-roller and win millions?  Or should I quit now earn money the normal way?  Thanks for the feedback Ray, Raghu and Blake on my first blog.  Thanks for booing at me especially Blake..

Jon's First Blog Attempt

Well, here goes.  I never thought that I would have a blog.  I always thought that I was performing a favor for people by not boring them.  I guess I will try anyway.  First I want to thank Raghu for setting this up for me.  I thought his blog page looked cool so I started to wonder if I should have one.   Also thanks for giving it a cool name.  I don't really know what all to write about so I will just give my plans for today.  At some point I hope to leave and go get my paycheck which will probably be wrong again.  For some reason I have not been able to clock in at work lately, which makes it hard to get paid.  I have to wait for a manager to override the stupid clock every day.  After that, I will probably come home and play my cheesy computer game Civilization III.  I have to work from 3-8 today at the really slow Kroger on Fielder and Pioneer pkwy.  I do have big plans for the weekend!  I am going gambling for the first time ever!  I have decided that either I am going to lose 20 bucks or win 1 million.  Either way it will be fun.  My biggest hope for this blog would be that I could stay in touch with everyone, especially those who don't live in this area anymore.  I am really bad about keeping in touch with people.  So I wanted to say hi to Jared, Blake, Ramya, Ray, Raghu, and any other people unfortunate enough to read this.  Please leave me feedback if this was good bad or crap and let me know how a blog should look.  My wife said that to have a blog I needed to have a more crazy persona than a pharmacy technician going to business school.  So I offered the idea of being a crack addict with a spousal abuse problem.  Let me know if that works.
